J and J Painting Lessons Manotick serves local artists and the community by providing them with the best tools for getting inspired and creating art. Our Story
Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes....J and J Painting Lessons Manotick was created in 2019 in order to keep group painting lessons in Manotick following the unfortunate closure of the Manotick Art Gallery and Framing. Two talented and local artists, Jane Magee and Jocelyne Moreau, work extremely hard to help cultivate the inner artist in all of their students and their goal is to inspire and enhance everyone’s creative spark and spirit. What We Envision
At J and J Painting Lessons Manotick, our mission is to create a safe, communal space for all levels of artists - beginners to professionals - to come together and express their creative sides. We believe in unlocking the creative spirit within each and every one of us, and offer classes for all students. Whether you’re a professional looking for new inspiration, a brand new student hoping to learn a thing or two about art, or if you’re simply interested in picking up a new hobby, J and J Painting Lessons Manotick is here to welcome you into the fold.
Classes
UPDATE - New Lessons beginning in October 2024 - March lessons are now FULL!!
The lessons run for eight weeks on Thursday evenings - 6-9pm and Friday mornings - 9am-12pm. The cost of the session is$425 plus $50 for materials and is payable during your first class. We ask new students pay a deposit of $200 to hold your spot.
Generally people are able to complete at least one canvas; additional canvases/supplies may be purchased from the teachers if needed.
The location of the lessons is in the Manotick United Church on Manotick Main Street (5567 Manotick Main Street). Both classes use oil paint. Adults only please.
